If you or someone in your life is currently experiencing crisis, please call 9-8-8 (National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline).

 

If your child is dealing with the loss of a loved one and needs additional support during school, please let his/her school staff know. In addition to your child's teacher and principal, assistance is available through the Guidance Department (grades 7-12), Elementary School Counselors (grades PK-6), Adult & Child ServicesFamily Services Coordinators (elementary grades), and school psychologists.

There are many children's books on death and dying available to help your child discuss the situation. Several of these titles are available through our schools as well as local libraries.

The National Association of School Psychologists website also includes several tip sheets and resources to support your child in these difficult times.
